Governor Sam Rohrer?

I understand Rep. Rohrer is running for Governor.  We wish him luck.  It would be sort of cool to have a guest in the Governor's Mansion.  I know he will bocome very busy but maybe we could get him on again to talk about his campaign.

This was a weird episode for me to do especially from a technical standpoint.  We had 6 audience members for this show and there were many questions from them. I sort of felt like I took some heat from the SESD Candidates' Town Hall Episode by not going to audience questions soon enough.  Even though this was not meant to be a town hall meeting, I still wanted to give audience members their say.  Unfortunately, as usual, I went to an extreme in the other direction and did not get the normal flow of the epsiode going before our time with Rep. Rohrer was up.

Compounding that was the fact that of course there is no sound room in the library.  We use a device called a telephone hybrid so that we do not get echo in the line and on the recording.  The problem was that the audience needed to hear Rep. Rohrer but turning up the speaker too loud would have meant an echo.  That was a bit of a balancing act and I thank Margie and the audience for bearing with me on that whole thing.

Well being it is Thanksgiving day, I would like to take the opportunity to thank those who have helped out by playing some part on the podcast team.

  • Denise Hoppes - My lovely and beautiful wife has been a great help with the podcast lately, puts up with this, high school football, and the other obsessions of mine.  She is Secretary on our Board of Directors helped out a great deal with fundriasing efforts, and many other things needed to help keep SYCP running.
  • Brad Mendenhall - Again I would say that there would not have even been a podcast this long without Brad's participation.  Brad hates meetings and is a great friend for tolerating all the SYCP team meetings and Board meetings.  As a member of the Board of Directors though, his input has been invaluable.
  • Clint Bowers - Clint runs Circuit Computer Services and is one of these genius techies.  He's also a great guy and a lot of fun to hang out with and bounce podcast ideas off of.  He also has been doing most of our sound editing this past season.
  • Ralph Bowers - Ralph is Clint's father and has been a great idea guy.  He is also a hard worker always willing to help us set up and tear down.  When I map out strategey for the podcast, I always try to get Ralph's opinion so that I could consider it before making a decision.  Both him and Clint get a little frusterated with the changes in direction and some of those same obsessin problems my wife has to put up with but in the end they always find a way to put up with me.
  • Tyler Bello - Tyler was our intern for a while this past season.  He did some video editing for us for possible future projects.
  • Carol Stampler - What could I say, Carol and the Mason Dixon Library have been wonderful and there would be no SYCP without them.  Carol had the foresight to agree to an idea other branches in York County are still only dreaming of.  Whether we have been a big headache or a little headache for Carol and the MDL, I don't know but Carol has been pleasant and wonderful throughout the entire experience.

Just a reminder, Brad and I will be doing the Season 2 State of the Podcast episode on December 3 at 5:30 PM at the Mason Dixon Library.  Stop in, ask qestions about our past shows or guests, or SYCP itself.  Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving.
